Editorial policy
Southern Story House aims to make careful, readable accounts of place and memory. We distinguish what a piece describes from what it interprets, and make corrections when an error is brought to our attention.
Accuracy and context
We check names, dates and factual statements against suitable material before publication, and avoid presenting an interpretation as settled fact. Where accounts differ or context is limited, we say so plainly. Readers can use the Contact page to point out an error or supply relevant context.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial decisions remain separate from commercial arrangements. Any paid, sponsored or partner material is identified clearly where it appears; a partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage or editorial approval.
Corrections
When a correction is warranted, we amend the relevant passage and add a clear correction note when the change affects a reader's understanding. We do not silently preserve a known factual error.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be generated with artificial intelligence. When an illustration is AI-generated, it is labelled as such; it is not offered as documentary evidence of a real place or event.
A place is never only a backdrop
Its shape, names and remembered uses all matter. We follow those details without pretending one account can speak for everyone.
